Campaign Story

* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.

* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.

Goals for My Fundraiser:

Supporting my capstone project, ‘EcoEdTech Hub’.

*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

What is 'EcoEdTech Hub'

A comprehensive online platform that merges educational technology with environmental activism to educate communities on sustainable living and food security, using interactive modules, video tutorials, and written content.
Components:

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)

  1. I am a ‘Adapter’ personality
type person with strong ‘Innovator’ business potential.
  2. I love education technology development for global social welfare and excels in education technology consulting.
  3. I wants to pursue a passion project as environmental activist with strategic communication skills so that it could lead to promotion of sustainable living and addressing the food security.

My plan of action: Competitions and Activities

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA – TSA focuses on technology, engineering, and innovation through competitions and projects that foster technical skills and leadership, aligning perfectly with the student’s passion for educational technology and sustainable innovation.
HOSA – Health Occupations Students of America focuses on health sciences and community service, which supports the student’s interest in environmental health and its effects on community well-being.

Competitions

TSA – Digital Video Production

Why it fits: This introductory TSA competition leverages video storytelling to
communicate complex topics, making it ideal for a project on sustainable
food systems. It builds foundational skills in digital media that align with the
initiative’s need to communicate research findings effectively.

HOSA – Public Service Announcement

Why it fits: This introductory HOSA competition requires the creation of a
30‐second PSA, which is perfect for raising awareness about sustainable food
practices and health. It aligns with the initiative by enhancing public communication and advocacy skills.

TSA – On Demand Video

Why it fits: In this competition, students must rapidly produce a compelling
video, which challenges them to apply creative problem-solving and quick
decision-making. It is well-suited for communicating innovative solutions in
sustainable food systems.

HOSA – Research Paper

Why it fits: This advanced HOSA competition allows students to delve deep
into research on health topics, making it ideal for presenting findings on
sustainable food systems. The freedom to choose a topic fosters independent
research and analytical skills.

Community Service:

Sustainable Food Fair & Workshop

Why it fits: This activity directly supports the student’s passion project by
engaging the local community in sustainable food practices, there by
translating research and communication skills into tangible community
impact.

Implementation: Plan and organize a local fair in zip code 30058 involving
workshops, cooking demonstrations, and interactive sessions on sustainable
food systems. The event will incorporate elements learned from competitions
(e.g., video presentations and PSA displays) to educate and involve
community members.

Skills Development: Event planning, community engagement,
communication, sustainable practices
